So, today at work around 12:30 I started feeling "different". I don't know how to explain it, but I felt like my stomach was tight. I attributed it to the popcorn I had eaten earlier that morning. I told my assistant at school that I thought I might be going into labor, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. She reminded me to stay positive and just take it easy. I ate my "last lunch", which was a bowl of pasta with sauce. I text-ed Linn, and he said he was cutting the grass. I then taught a math class and a writing class. I kept running to the restroom, but still didn't know what was going on. When it was starting to get close to the end of the day, my assistant told me to stay inside and she would take the kids out for me. I called Linn and told him to take a shower, but that it probably was nothing. I told him not to call anyone, but I would talk to him again before I left school. After the kids left, I was walking towards the restroom, when a co-worker approached me and said "something was happening". I said "like what"? She said you are going into labor, I can tell it in your face. She suggested I stop by the Dr's office on the way home so they could check me. I was hesitant at first, but decided that it was a good idea. I called Linn and told him to meet me at the Dr's with our bags, just in case. When I arrived at the Dr's office, they led me back and Dr. Pearce was going to check me. She asked how far the contractions were apart, but I told her I wasn't having contractions, just tightness. She said I was 4 centimeters dilated and was having a contraction at that very moment! I had no idea! Linn walked in the door and was told the news. His face said it all! We were told to go over to the hospital. I asked the Dr, "are you sure you don't want us to go home first and wait until they are more regular". She told me that it was best to go over and they could see how close my contractions were. So, Linn followed me over to the hospital and my parents received the phone call that they had been waiting for on pins and needles....I was in labor!!
